Re: [T3] Type of Fuel to use (in Australia)?

Hiya,

We've just had this discussion on AussieVeeDubbers:
http://www.mickmotors.com.au/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1061

The outcome of the discussion is:

* normal unleaded petrol is fine and should have no issues
* LRP is crap, and cokes the heads (according to some)
* Premium is a fine substitute for Super
* Optimax is a fine substitute for Super and for the price difference is
worth it over LRP. Cleans heads.

Andrew

Subject: [T3] Type of Fuel to use (in Australia)?

Hiyas,

My VW has been garaged for a while, since before Leaded fuel became
unavailable in Australia. So now I'm ready to put some fuel in and would
like to find out what the best solution would be?

The Lead Replacement Fuels may do the job, but I've read somewhere about
valve protectants being needed? Do I need any other additives at all?
I'm a
little confused, so any help would be greatly appreciated! A search of
the
list archives was fruitless.

Thanks,
Daniel.
