The VWoA items were often of much lower quality and could change manufacturers from year to year. Since the choices here were entirely marketing decisions and had absolutely no bearing on what might be available as accessories in other countries, I tend to view them as gimmicks rather than true VW accessories. Some dealers also offered items as dealer installed options which were not VWoA items. These fall even lower on the "authenticity ladder" than the VWoA items. Since the curb feelers were probably identical to those sold by NAPA and K-Mart at the same time, I would put them in this lower category. If they were really official VWoA items, I'll bet the only thing special about the ones sold by the dealerships was the packaging. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
