VWoA imported only FI type 3s from 68-on, so that means that there were no AT type 3s imported into the US in 68. VWoA introduced the AT type 3 into our market starting with the 69 model year, when it became available with FI. All the 68 AT type 3s were built up with IRS suspensions and dual carb engines, but none of those came directly to the US. I bought my 68 new in March of 68 and didn't even know that there were AT type 3s made before 69. I only learned about that a few years later, in some of the manuals I picked up. It is also set out in the microfilm, but it takes a little digging to find the whole story. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
