The cables, brackets and wing nuts are there and intact. I think the latch at the door pillar must be frozen closed (this car sat for at least 10 years before I got it) like a lot of other things on this car. The drivers seat stays locked even when the door is open. You need to reach under the seat and pull the cable to release the back. I think the passenger side is the same way, but the seat adjustment was so far out that it would not lock even with the door closed. I've yet to pull the carpet back and check out the actuating mechanism to see what's up. Let me guess....these cables are NLA, right? Finding a lot of that with the fastback. Went looking for a few things at Pomona today. Found a very nice OG VW stamped T3 muffler for cheep, a rear back rest in white (from a notch...I like the arm rest) that is better than mine (sun damage), and bought the wrong license plate light housing for a buck....anyone need an earlier ghia one ;-0 Steve ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
