Re: [T3] New 66 Squareback

MikeS=> worried about the body work, it scares me BIG TIME.

Welcome to the list. You're right, you've got a lot of work ahead. I
hope
you're good with welding sheet metal.

Thanks and welding is fairly easy for me thank God :-)

=> can I buy new body steel or should I
=> call a bone yard out west for parts?

Calling >yards isn't a bad idea, but be prepared for a whole
lot of never-heard-of->it and don't-have-it. Once a car is as far gone
as yours sounds, they >don't often come back. Lemme guess -- Rust Belt,
right?

Rust belt for sure.... living in Hampden, Mass.... shipping is the
killer.... can you send full heater channels by truck from AZ? :-) As
for far gone, well its mostly the heater channels and a bit of the floor
pans was checking it out before in the garage before I posted to the net
;-) ... I have all the other sheet metal I will need as in fenders, hood
<was dented in with a bat I think>, new rockers. I also acquired all my
engine and brake parts from a local air cooled guy who bought out most
of the VW dealers in the northeast.

Isn't this part of the fun in restoring a VW? :-)
