Re: [T3] New 66 Squareback

<x-charset iso-8859-1>MikeS=> worried about the body work, it scares me BIG TIME.

Welcome to the list. You're right, you've got a lot of work ahead. I hope
you're good with welding sheet metal.

=> can I buy new body steel or should I
=> call a bone yard out west for parts?

Patch panels turn up on the market sometimes, for high prices. Calling yards
isn't a bad idea, but be prepared for a whole lot of never-heard-of-it and
don't-have-it. Once a car is as far gone as yours sounds, they don't often
come back. Lemme guess -- Rust Belt, right?

I hesitate to cast aspersions on your new love, but considering the relative
rarity of good clean body parts and the hassle of shipping them, you might
be better off to start looking in the dry states for a more or less complete
car, or at least a complete pan. The amount of money/time you'll spend
fixing yours could easily be greater than the cost of a nice AZ Square
delivered to your door.
