Yeah, I really wanted a manual trans, but it already has an automatic that
works, so I had to take it like that. Someone spent a lot of time locating
ALL the german Solex carb parts. I've never seen a true AT carb linkage
before this one ( has kick down switch built in , plus a slot that allows
wide open throttle while kicked down. It has genuine VW type3 cast iron
manifolds, Solex 32s w/o electric cutoffs, Knecht oil bath air cleaner, the
flapper valve that goes between the body and the aircleaner(also a Knecht)
that has the summer/winter flap in it. Looking at it, if you didn't know what
it was supposed to have, you'd think it came that way.

I need to write up a "Correct lowering" procedure but I just havent been
able to come to peace with myself and do it :)
Yeah I'm leaning right now toward leaving it stock height, although I think
it should be lowered at least 1 notch as it has about 3" of clearance above
the front tires. The reason I'm leaving it for now is that the car is level
sittting up this high (has coil over shocks in the rear), and I've never had
a stock type3 sit this high AND be level. As they've all had the rear sit
lower than the front. When you come up with a "Correct lowering procedure"
let me know as I'd like to do it right. thanks for all the encouragement.
