Thanks for your good wishes.
I didn't find any particular problems with the USA weather -  we were a bit
lucky that it was so comfortable.  95 degrees dry is no problem, and the
torrential downpour and thunderstorm that kept Jim and I sheltering in his
storage building was something we get occasionally too.
Maybe a bit of dehydration was a contributing factor, but I'm assuming it
was the long overnight return flight with its inactivity that triggered it -
at least I can take the warnings seriously and do more to protect myself
another time.  If not, I shall have to travel by ship (or make the Variant
ocean-going).
