Hmmm..., good point. I hadn't thought of that. I suppose a test piece would be in order. Perhaps something smaller, like a Trabant? ;-)


The Trabant has some kind if pulp material body, so they wont rust anyways.

I remember John Jaranson mentioned that regular galvanizing wouldnt work out with paintwork, the car manufacturers (like VW and Audi) uses some special procedure.

On the other hand, I read a story about someone who had a 1973 Citroen 2CV galvanized when it was brand new. This car wasnt repainted, and it lived it's entire life parked on one of the docks in Copenhagen. 20 years later, the car was a mess with rotted canvas roof and seats that were soaked to something unmentionable with rain water. Still, the body was spotless!
