I think the FI response would be identical to that of carbs, and certainly the 
FI AT cars drop a bit when put into gear. Our FI does not have an idle 
stabilizer, that only came later.

I never had trouble keeping a healthy type 3 FI AT engine from dying when 
put into gear, but I once had a Chevy, actually 2, with a broken line to the 
VM, and it was really hard to figure out why it ran so well most of the time, 
but so reacted so poorly in certain circumstances.
