Hello- > It's not just the power, but also the holes that have to be cut in the fan > housing for the V-belt that let in warm air for cooling the engine. There are ways to remedy the problem, but many don't... Of course, one easy way to remedy the problem is to use a T4 engine which isn't subject to the problem to start with :-). > And the > holes that have to be cut in the body to bring the Freon lines in and out. I don't understand why VPC (one of the two biggest aftermarket kit suppliers) decided to cut TWO holes for each line! They went from the outside of the car to the trunk to the inside... what a waste. I just used one for each... and I painted the exposed sheet metal... and I used silicone to seal the holes when done... > And > the condenser under the front that makes future access to the front axle > beam impossible. Not impossible... Just very, um, "trying." :-) > And the dash unit which almost completely seals the > underside of the dash, making any future dash troubleshooting/repairs > impossible. Get your wiring in order before installation, because afterward it is HARD to get up there. "Trying" again :-). > And so on.... Yes, but when you are driving your car in the summertime over long distances, you can have a conversation, turn on the radio, and after the drive, you aren't hot or sweaty and your ears don't hurt. While A/C isn't for everyone, it isn't an evil thing either. When carried out properly, it's a great addition to a true daily driver/touring car.
