The air just comes out of slots which open on the side of the boxes. The air pipes that you see under there are for the defroster. I suppose it's possible that water from the air boxes is dripping down and getting into the defroster pipes, but in that case the problem is still in the air boxes. The air boxes will not drip if they are clean and the water drain hoses are also clear. It is rather easy for leaves to clog either of these up and it is also quite easy to think you have them clean and for debris to shift around inside the airboxes clogging them right up again. It is also important not to push the bottom end of the drain hoses too far into the bulkhead. If you do, they will push right up against the gas tank, sealing off the end of the hose - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
