Martin, I was watching Street Rodder TV on Espn2 earlier this week, and they had a product on their show that "welds" rubber and plastic parts together. I haven't tried it yet, but it did look promising. You can check out their website @ www.coolchem.com they also gave a code that offered a discount too (code#1450 for those of us watching on tv). It might work for your old floor mats, and it is reasonably priced. They were "welding" a seal together for a cut down windsheild on the program, and then they showed them "welding" rubber to some clear hard plastic. I thought that was pretty interesting, and it sparked my interest. I hope this helps and gives us some options.
