Re: [T3] Popout windows

1) good enough, but they are a pain in the arse to
install
2) latch thru glass seals are fine
3) new chrome buttons are available from Karmann Ghia
Parts and Restoration, maybe WCM too
4) I would love to find these!
5) No

Hope that helps some,
Phil

I am working on various aspects of my popout windows
in my Squarebacks and
could use some opinions:

1. Replacement inner and outer popout rubber from West
Coast Metric - good
or bad?
2. Replacement pop-out latch to glass seals - good or
bad?
3. Are replacement pop-out latch chrome "buttons"
available? The chrome
pieces that sit on the outside of the pop-out glass is
heavily pitted on
my '63.
4. Popout hinge anti-rattle seals(?) - I pulled one of
my popouts out of
my '63 Squareback and it had a little bit of rubber
stuck to the inside
of each popout hinge, which fell apart when I touched
it. Has anyone ever
replaced this? It looks like standard thin rubber.
5. Do you have to remove the popout frame vinyl trim
near the hinge (on
the body) to reinstall the popout window?

Thank you,
Everett Barnes
