Get a cheap voltmeter and hook it up between the output of the fuel pump relay and ground so you can see it while you're driving. When you turn the key ON you should see it go up to 12+ volts and then come back to zero in about a second. Once you start the car it should read 12-14V all the time. If you see that voltage drifting down toward zero and then the engine looses power and dies, you have your problem solved. Replace that relay.
