<x-charset iso-8859-1>> has anyone ever discovered a good adapter made from > generic (easily found at home) materials?). Yes, I use a spare fuel filler hose from the tank inlet of a parts car is just the right size to fit the carbs. Use it full length (6" ?) or cut a slice off to clear the air-cleaner mounting studs. As far as the idea of using the balance ports - try it! I have very successfully used a length of hose onto some 'nipples' soldered in the air-cleaner over the carbs to make a simple U-tube manometer with a bit of kerosene as the fluid. It worked well over a bigger rpm range and with pre-heated air too - much more realistic conditions. Dave.
