as i try to start it (almost anytime, not just cold) it cranks over for like 30 seconds. it appears to be getting worse as well. the guy at the shop (reputable and honest, by the way, so i trust him) said that the fuel pressure drops off sharply after the you turn the key, it ramps up then drops off. he said it was because of the internal check valve in the pump is going out. sounds right for the symptoms, i guess. he said i could run it for a while, but it will die some time soon. should i still be suspicious of this diagnosis? > Jim Adney has Bosch rebuilts in stock. But, I would be suspicious of > this diagnosis. These pumps last for a very long time with no problems. > Usually they only give problems after the car has sat for a long time > with water in the gas. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
