<x-charset Windows-1252>JohnJ=> What am I risking by reusing => the original lifters? Assuming they were working OK before and there's no damage, it's not really a risk issue. The question would be whether they're worn beyond sensible tolerances for a rebuild. If they're ooriginal German and the engine hasn't been driven into the ground, you might do well to reuse them. It's considered safe practice to get matched cam & lifters to avoid metallurgy conflicts. On the other hand, I took a lifter (bought new from Webcam w/cam) out of my engine after about 25K that had at some point failed to rotate, and it had a deep divot taken out of it. The cam was fine, but I replaced it all anyway. If you intend to keep the cam, I'd say definitely reuse the lifters if you can. Test them for concavity. If they're dished out, you'll want to reconsider on that cam, as it's probably worn too.
