Once again, I will remind you of Karl-Olov's little trick. He drilled a 
small hole in the inner fender and a small hole in the headlight bucket. 
Seal the holes with rubber grommets. Hook up a cable to the hood latch, 
run it through the grommets to the headlight bucket and maybe put a key 
ring on the headlight bucket end of the cable. If the cable snaps, you 
now have a emergency solution and you dont have to hack through any body 
panel to get it unlatched. You also have a bit control and can try to 
lift or press on the hood while you pull the cable.
