Re: [T3] FI fuel system to carbs

<x-flowed>>Im looking at it from the angle, if I have to buy something thats going to
cost that much already (lets say a pressure sensor for example) then I might
as well go with the carbs, and avoid the fact that the wiring harness is
quite brittle, the TVS is probably quite worn, etc. etc.

! The parts you need for the FI *are* out there. Sometimes not real cheap right when you have an emergency need, but they're out there at reasonable prices if you just keep a casual eye out.

Stock Solex carbs work fine (I've owned a Solex-equiped Type 3), but a correctly maintained FI also runs fine (better, in my opinion). I'd just hate to see somebody like you who has put so much effort into figuring out how the FI works to give up on it.

About a year and a half ago I was fighting my own FI battles on several fronts (hacked wiring harness, mis-wired injectors, sluggish pressure sensor, manifold leaks, bad ECU, 2 bad spare ECUs,..) Many would have given up I guess, but in the end I am glad I got it straightened out. Many people here on the list helped to make it possible, of course. And I learned an awful lot in the process, without spending much at all. Allow yourself the same benefits!
