They actually both need a key switched 12 source connected to one side. The oil gets its other side connected to ground thru the pressure switch when the pressure is low, and the gen light gets bat 12 on one side and gen output to the other--when the charging systen is working this gives you 12V on both sides of the bulb, which makes it go out.
