I have a 1967 Squareback. My generator doesn't seem to want to charge my battery. I checked the big red wire from the generator to the regulator, and it's not broken - I get 1.3 ohms on my multimeter. However, the red light on my the left gauge still doesn't want to go out. I changed the regulator out with one from a 1969 Bug (I converted to an alternator to feed my stereo) - they appeared to be exactly the same ('cept the square's was a lot dirtier). This didn't help, either. So, I'm looking for any ideas. bad generator? Can I put my Bug's generator in there? is changing the brushes out a big deal? --boinger ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
