<x-charset iso-8859-1>Yes I had this problem too. As well I noticed that the caliper wasn't centered on the rotor width. IE at rest one pad was closer than the other. I shimmed the claiper slightly which also fixed part of the clearance problem. To completely fix the clearance problem I carefully hand filed as little as possible off the corner of that offending knob that is rubbing. I didn't want to go through the casting! I didn't think it would work but even on corners etc it dosn't rub. My new painted rims have no marks on the inside. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark" <meanuplus2@earthlink.net> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Saturday, March 23, 2002 7:08 AM Subject: Re: Sprint Star's hitting Caliper > Has anyone experienced a problem with there wheels rubbing on the brake > caliper, I have a 67 Squareback with Empi Sprint Stars and the new Varga > caliper is 1/8 in to large for the wheels.
