I would think that if you just use the minimum necessary, it would be no 
problem. I'd just blow some off the palm of your hand onto the areas of 
interest.

I suspect you could use chalk, flour, silt, talc or any number of fine powders, 
but things that are inorganic and non-toxic would be the better choices.
