Even better than a steel wire brush on the grinder is a brass wire 
brush. I've used the grinder with a steel wire brush many many times on 
my Bug and it is so powerful that it actually eats metal! It does become 
very clean though. The brass brush is not so good for removeing paint as 
the steel brush though.
