Your primer should work well on the VW, too. A 1/8" pipe thread will fit nicely in the oil pressure switch port. I have a plastic tube I use sometimes to pressurize a new engine from another car to get oil everywhere before starting. It just connects one oil cooler to the other using nylon fittings.
