Here is the history of correspondence. This message that I'm forwarding was sent yesterday via your Web-based e-mail (i.e., mail.vwtype3.org). If support didn't get it, then your mail server is *really* screwed up. I'll just assume that your colleagues did receive it and are working on it, and that it's just a new issue to you.

Oh! I've just checked, and I see this morning that it's up. Do you guys know why it was down??? I also wrote you guys last night, letting you know that the "archiving and digest" had mysteriously changed to "disabled", so I re-enabled it. (NO, I did not change it to "disabled".)

Please write back to let me know if somebody actually fixed this problem, or whether you have no clue as to why this happened, or if perhaps your server changing "archiving and digest" to "disabled" against my wishes actually could have caused the whole list to shut down.

I must say, though, that it's been pretty frustrating -- when the list went down about two days ago, I wrote to support and was basically blown off (see below; this has actually happened several times since the move, and is really annoying). I wrote again, and was asked for more details, which I provided. I wrote again last night, Keith, and the issue seemed brand-new to you. *Very* frustrating.

Please reply, letting me know what you know about how my list (type3@vwtype3.org) started working again, so that we an all do what we can to prevent this from happening again.

Mail sent to the list does not get sent out to any
subscribers.

No bounce messages are returned to senders.

No digests are being sent.

When I log in to "admin-type3@vwtype3.org", and click on
the "type3" mailbox, no new posts appear, even though many
have been sent.

Subscription requests, unsubscription requests, and mode
changes are not registered.

It's not just funky or irregular, but just totally shut
down, plain and simple.

Totally, totally broken, with no errors anywhere.  Messages
to type3@vwtype3.org, type3-on@vwtype3.org,
type3-off@vwtype3.org, etc., just totally disappear.  The
problem began yesterday morning, 6/26/2002.

Please fix!!!!!!!!

If there is anything unclear in what I've written, please
ask specific questions.
