1) keith, did berg bother to tell you to advance the motor timing
before i did? and how did it run without that knowledge?
2) my notch, today in 85F weather ran very cool (180F) oil temps. it
has 8.7:1 CR and is on pump gas. this is on mahle pistons and
cylinders. i have been told for years that you can't do that on the
street! even the semi-local VW shop says that thing can't run oil temps
that cool, and my gauge has been claibrated too. now, if i ran this
motor at 7.0:1 CR i would get about 15% less horsepower and not any
benefit to my cooling system.
