<x-charset windows-1252>OK - I have received a pretty broad range of recommendations for my compression ratio. Everything from Berg's 6.9:1 to an engine expert here at work with VW experience recommendation of 9.0:1. I am planning to go with between 7.0 and 7.2 depending on what it works out given standard shim sizes. On a related note, what tolerance can I run on the CR given my stock rebuild? If standard shim thicknesses yield 7.1 on one bank and 7.2 on the other (remember my head chamber sizes vary by about 1 ml left and right), can I live with it? What are the consequences? Should I work the combustion chambers to get them closer in volume? It is only a 1.5% change. Should I worry about it? Thanks for all the advice.
