<x-flowed>What I started to do is stick the temperature probe on my VOM in the oil down through the dipstick hole after I stop. This gives an accurate reading which I can validate with boiling water. Temperature on the bus (1976 2 l type 4) was max 190 F (it was last winter that I splurged on the fancy VOM)which I thought was too cold and a result of the thermostat being disconnected.
I always thought it would be cool to get one of those infrared surface temperature thermometers. Anyone ever tried one of these?
