I don't know much about distributors, and this kind of real-world info is very helpful since I'm just about to build my first aircooled motor. Any suggestions on where to buy an 010, or how much it costs? It sounds like a good balance of driveability and maintainability, especially if I can convert it to solid-state ignition eventually. --- type3@vwtype3.org wrote: > From: "Steven Ayres" <comwest@att.net> > Subject: Re: [T3] 010 Dizzys > Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 08:44:04 -0700 > > WillB=> building a 1776 ... > => I've found a 010 ... worth the conisderation > => or do I keep my stock? > > I've been running an 010 on my 1641 for some time, and the > performance has > been pretty good, much better than the 009 (which in my > opinion is junk). > I'm convinced that any mechanical-advance-only distributor > will exhibit some > sort of flat spot on acceleration, however.
