The original hoses can be replaced by CAREFULLY cutting thru the crimp
ferrule and then just replacing the short piece of hose with new 5/16" >hose

I had to buy a new injector so I performed this procedure on the bad one (still need to do it to the remaining injectors in the car) Was easy money. I used a Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel, made sure I had a good hold on the injector, and carefully cut through the crimp sheath. I made one cut along the length of the sheath, and then another at the bottom around the diameter. A nice easy job, just go slow and make a shallow cut, just deep enough to go through the thin metal crimp.
