<x-charset iso-8859-1>I do agree that the new engines run a bit hotter during break in... but my experience is that is only about 20 or 30 degrees and they are back to normal in about 100 miles. I broke my berg motor in with 20W and it still had 8 lbs at a low idle after its first trip... and thinking this was too low I R&R'd the oil pump to find that I was just a bit too liberal with the RTV on the pump cover gasket. With a new gasket and just a few microns of RTV I had the 12-14lbs that I find normal for a new engine idling hot. Ive never had a flickering oil light on any of my cars except the 72 rat I bought years ago... and it had about 70lbs of compression all the way around to go with the light. ... the sensors do vary quite a bit on thier threshold too..
