And on a lighter note - Turns out the vaccum modulator valve was truly toasted. The suspicious-looking fluid in the vac line was not just condensation, and the line itself was acting like a soda-straw, allowing the engine to slurp yummy red ATF at will. This made for lousy power, fouled plugs, nasty-smelling exhaust, and runny oil. But, I must imagine that the moving parts are oh-so-clean.
