With the 1964 Notch done I took the "dark horse" 1968 Notch out of storage. The car was bought as a non-runner last year. I fixed the brakes, the muffler and raised the car to a more sensible ride height. I also managed to get the car running, although not good at all. The last thing I did before the car was put into storage was to get new bushings for the throttle shafts. The problem that I have is that I can't get the car to run well. It is SLOW and hesitates, just like the carbs were out of sync. I have a Uni-syn and it shows that the carbs draws the same amount of air when idling. Other strange behaviour: When the gas pedal is released it takes about 5 seconds before the engine returns to idle. The mixture screws don't seem to affect the running, unless they are very near closed and the car dies. Does anyone have any idea on what to check next?
