The early cars used 8 mm clamp bolts and other ball joints than the 
later cars, which use 10 mm clamp bolts. The change was done in mid-1964 
and the first 1964 cars have the earlier ball joints.

I have not seen a source for the early ball joints. I found a lower one 
at a swap meet, but have never seen another.
