No, they're not. I drive a late 80's Audi myself (1987 Coupe quattro) and know those cars well. The pads on these cars are saddle mount, with a floating 1-piston caliper. There are no pin hole that lets them mount to the type 3 caliper.Also late '80's Audi rears are the same too, can't remember which models exactly but if you have the old pads they can be pattern matched over the counter.
