Jim, You rock man, I am sure you have been told. Das Fasty is Carbed and the bad plug does fire at higher RPM's. I forgot to mention the car has carbs earlier. So I changed the plug one more time last night and the plug was clearly black. Could I have a fuel leak in the carb? Usually when that happens the gas can leak into the crankcase but in this case it has not. Or yet anyway. I also just did a valve adjustment too. So it runs alot better but very sluggish. it kinda bucks a little and the performance is extremely poor. I put new (the correct actually) manifolds in for the web 34's and ever since I did that the car has been running like crap. The only difference between the old set of mani's is that the previous ones were bug manifolds and they were polished smooth on the inside. Also the new ones have not been polished and the manifold to carb seal is protruding from the throat wall about 2 or 3 mm. Would this give that much restriction? I would think not as much but I am sure that even slight blockages can cause ao engine to run poorly. What do you think? > Sounds like that cylinder isn't working, at least > not at idle. How's the > compression, valve adj, etc? Is this FI or carbs? > > - > ******************************* > Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org > Madison, Wisconsin, USA > ******************************* > > ------------------------------------------------ > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> > For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ===== Erick the daddy 68 fasty Is your Type X here?
