I keep my air > conditioning in the house set at 80 degrees. > Glad you're going to give me a warm welcome, Russ. ;-) It was more a statement of fact - "my body isn't normally accustomed to temps over about 75F". We do get 90 deg at times, but rarely, and it makes headlines in the papers. A summer's day (with sun!) would be around 80F. It's the price (benefit?) of a maritime climate. We get frosty mornings maybe 20 times a year, but not often below 20F, and sometimes it snows - maybe a couple of inches. That's in the south. I like it, and it means I get to drive my Squareback all year round without it suffering too much from salt etc. We had 95 deg F last summer at the Type 3 meet near Frankfurt - quite humid too - it was a novel experience to have water pouring off my face as if there was a leak! Novel experiences in your fifties are rare. ;-) Driving across the 'States in an old VW will be one as well. I've got the off-white vinyl seats in my Square, which still get quite hot in the sun - I guess Jim has the black vinyl. Ouch! Dave.
