As a test, try shorting between the 2 red wires on the fuel pump relay for a minute or so before you try to start. If this is a 70 or later, you can do a few pumps of the gas pedal just before you try to actually start it, as this will allow any air to bleed out of the injectors themselves. Don't overdo it or you could flood the engine. If that doesn't help, pull the dist out, clean the trigger points, and put a drop of oil on each pivot point.
