That was my general meaning, since being original on a VW entails German also, but Jim's terms are def. universal to all parts/makes, and it IS best to adhere to referenced standards. I tugged the old girl home last night, just getting legal title tonight. Brakes are super grabby on the rear, we could barely push her. Tended to roll forward more easily. Found two tool kits, the dealer vouchers for service (goning to try and use the 32000 mile one for kicks if I get her on the road before I forget I have them... :) Hopefully the pushing into workspare party wil be this Sat, where I will being preperations to hand turn engine, and the replacements of fuel filters/lines/tnak flush/new bat, and the crossing fingers while turning key ceremony. What is correct manufactureer, or sutaible replacement by another (year ranges?) for the MC and brake cyls for this car? I have seem to discovered the calipers are 72-73 only? Not strange notions, since the 70 ghia front calipers are all by themselves it seems.
