>> i >> heard vw used the same company back in the 60-70's and even to this day on >> the new vws is that true i paid 45.00 apiece 90.00 for the set of 2 i >> heard that was a awesome price any imput would be great >That's a very good price, but I don't much care for the current Brazilian >production. ....I agree that's a very good price, but for likely the same price, or close to it, Jim could have rebuilt your OEM German ATE calipers. I can personally attest to the fact that Jim's work on these is very professional (Mine have been rebuilt by Jim), not to mention you would still have German quality. The newer Brazillian replacements lack the cylindrical pin and built in self-adjuster that the originals had. Plus their overall quality is somewhat lacking as compared to their original counterparts. It's always nice to have a "personal touch" when anything on our vehicles is repaired/replaced rather than having assembly line produced parts. It's like the old saying goes: "if you want something done right, do it yourself". If you can't do it yourself, leave it in the hands of a pro who deals with our specific model of VW's regularly. Jim is just one of the many on this list that we are all lucky to have available to help us out in this area. You'll be rewarded with originality of parts, and peace of mind knowing your repaired parts don't have a quality control issue that most mass produced parts suffer from.
