I took the cap off and cleaned it and the spring. I cleaned all the muck out from beneath the cap. However there is a slit all the way around the edge of this round opening, which is designed to stop anything going back into the crankcase. This slit was all blocked up, so i curved the paperclip like a fish hook and then inserted it ito the slit, gradually running it all the way around, stopping to remove the muck as it fell out before it could fall back into the case. eventually you can get it pretty clean but it is quite a narrow slit so i am not suprised it blocked. andrew d ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org </x-charset>
