Those vents are for the passenger compartment only. They have nothing to do with engine cooling. Whether your carb converted 69 runs hotter than your 72 will depend completely on whether the conversion was done well or not, whether all the cooling system components are installed and adjusted correctly, and whether the carbs have been jetted properly. While this certainly CAN be done well, most conversions that I see fail miserably at one or more of the above. > Also - missing a piece of trim on the hatch. On the right side, there's > "automatic". I can't remember for sure, but that may have just been a short chrome horizontal bar. Either that, or it was the dealer's logo. Someone else with a readily visible '69 will have to confirm which. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
