[T3] My engine update

<x-charset iso-8859-1>I will inform all that I have started abusing my car this
past weekend. I hauled four adults including myself with
ice chests and picnic items in the back and also a bunch
of chairs and a portable table on the roof. My spring over
shocks seem to be working fine. Only after
a 1000 miles on the engine, I hope I am not pushing it but
I have not driven faster that 55 mph. Slow up hill with this full
load but it is still settleing.

I changed my oil for the first time this weekend and boy was it
nasty, black with micro metal flakes . The autotopsy of the filter showed
lots of lumps of grease and pasty black stuff but no chunks of metal
or sealent . I replaced the oil with my semi synthetic . I can't wait to
see how my next oil change compares.

I connected my other head temp sensor ton my single head temp gauge
and found that the right head warms up hotter than my left side
but it is cooler than the leftside when fully warmed up and on the road.
There is a 25 degree f difference between the two. 300 deg f on the
right and 325 deg f on the left.

I also installed my new chrome round vintage foglights with relay and all ,
nice looking but pointing a little high so I will correct this today.

My engine seems to have good power and may get better after it
settles completely in at 10,000 miles or three months for me .

My engine used to run on after turning it off, it was kicking my but
and I found out that all of my super duper oil cooler fan job was
acting as a generator when turning off the car. As the fans winded
down, it generated voltage that kept my ignition system on as well
as the injection system . The engine would turn for a few seconds and
even backfire. This was embarassing, I even heard someone at the
parking lot at Sears refer to my car as a chitty chitty bang bang .
I corrected this by installing a large diode at the fan input so
electricity can go only one way, into the fan and not out.

This was a busy weekend.
