I have never had one of the metal ones leak, (and I used to build probably 200 engines a year), but I put all the plugs in "backwards" like an automatic. That way you never forget, and have to tear the engine back down to turn it around for an automatic. Most VW mechanics I know put them in backwards. An automatic drive plate WILL hit if there is a problem with the torque converter. -- Russ Wolfe '71 Fastback AT '66 Fastback MT (IT RUNS) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
