Grease is just a mixture of oil and a material chemically known as soap. So the oil you need is there. This suggestion was interesting, but I'm not sure it's that useful. I'd be worried that the grease might be as likely to hold cuttings in as to expel them. The people I know who do it in the car just use a long extension on an air hose to blow the cuttings out. OTOH, the cuttings are only aluminum and they really won't hurt the engine. The part that you DO have to be really careful with is the Heli-coil tang which is stainless steel. You have to reach down with a long nose pliers and break it off, then take it out. If you drop it you have to pull the engine and remove the head. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
