<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well, lets break this down to its basic elements... if you change the carbs and nothing else you at best will get the same HP... youll lose the chokes (which you can adjust open anyway) so what would you accomplish?? are the Dells going to do something better than the Solex's? are they a better or more reliable carb? I think not... but lets hear from the Dell people... I know the webers are no good myself. With proper jetting you wont lessen the engine life but getting to the proper getting is a long and often difficult task. as of yet.. I havent heard any anyone refer to a carburator when they said "Buddy, you should have gotten a Dell" Keith Keith Park Top Notch Restorations topnotch@nycap.rr.com 71 Squareback (with no empty nipples!) 65 Notchback (still suckin its gas!) 65 Squareback 75 Opel 87 Golf 88 Rx7 10th Anniversary ----- Original Message ----- From: Marc Bona <chillz1@angelfire.com> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2002 11:26 PM Subject: [T3] Type 3 Carburetion > I'm seriously contemplating putting a > set of REAL mild dellorto's or weber's on my new > engine in exchange for the stock solex's.
