Hi, I haven't been on this list for a while, but recently I got started again on my 70 square. I'm having problems with starting it up after an engine rebuild, and a flood. All of the electrical things seem to work except maybe those relays by the regulator which may have been damaged in a flood several years ago. One of my problems is that I don't have a wiring diagram that shows the fuel pump and fuel injection relays, and all that wiring. I never did take all of that appart, so I think the wiring should be good. Question: when you're starting the car, when does the fuel pump turn on? I have checked the wiring for the pump up to the relay under the dash, and the pump works when I hook it up directly, but never when I try to crank the engine (I can't get the engine to crank by the way). Another question: (it may be too late for this kind of problem) Is it OK to use a battery charger to start your FI T3? My charger has a starter function, and I have used it to try to get it going. Looking back at this I am hoping that I didn't fry anything by using the charger. It's good to be back. -Richard Steinburg ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
