They came stock on the VW-Porsche 914... :-)  They were also a rarish dealer
accessory for some years.

Many aftermarket rims are 5.5", too... including the chrome Mangel wheels.

Stock, which is 46mm, does well.  A little bit more will make the rears tuck
away more into the fender (not a problem with me, though), but will make the
fronts rub a bit sooner on tight turns, too.
